Matthias Niedenführ

Matthias Niedenführ (from Munich, Germany) received his MA degree and PhD in Chinese Studies from Erlangen University (Germany). His dissertation deals with leadership figures in Chinese history television. He has lived and worked in East Asia for a decade. Currently he is Managing Director of the European Centre for Chinese Studies (ECCS) at Peking University. His research interests are national identity construction, politicization of national histories in the media, business ethics and institutional economics in East Asia. He is a co-founder of the academic lecture series and think tank “ThinkIN China” in Beijing: http://www.thinkinchina.asia.
